“Countless numbers of people he helped throughout the years will never know him. His contributions came quietly from deep within the heart. Neither fame nor glory was his; nor did he seek them.

For those privileged to know him, Michael Joyce exemplified the finest qualities of the human condition. He had a love of life and boundless generosity of spirit that enriched everyone he touched beyond measure.

Through his actions, far more eloquent than his words could ever be, Michael taught us the true meaning of life—people helping people.”

A Man to Remember

Husband, father, community activist, and tireless public servant, Michael Joyce was an ordinary man with an extraordinary heart. To the thousands of immigrants he helped along the road to citizenship and naturalization, Mike was a mentor, a trusted advisor, and a faithful friend. He treated everyone with compassion, respect, and dignity.

Michael Joyce never asked a person’s race, color, or creed.  He would only ask, “How can I help?”  He taught us the true meaning of life—people helping people.

Now we are asking you to honor Mike’s memory with a tax-deductible donation to The Michael Joyce Memorial Playground at Marine Park in South Boston.  Your support will help us create a permanent memorial to a man who helped so many.
